You can get your eye exam here, but they have no optical center, meaning you can't pick out your glasses here. You'd have to drive all the way to Galveston or Texas City twice just for that, or take your perception to another facility, which at that point, you may as well just get your eye exam done elsewhere too. This place is pointless for those who need glasses.
I am suffering from shingles that involved my eye and was told by my dermatologist to get an immediate appointment with an ophthalmologist. This clinic would not give me an appointment for 6 weeks. I was able to get an appointment with the Eye Center of TX the next day which was very lucky for me as my cornea was involved and required immediate treatment. I could have gone blind in that eye without prompt treatment.
Went to optometrist for headaches and trouble seeing at night/light sensitivity and was diagnosed with optic neuritis and referred to Dr. Mopuru. She rejected optic neuritis and said it was mistaken for the drusen in my eyes. Once she diagnosed me with drusen, she said I could go. I, however, had to ask that she come back to help address the initial reasons for coming in (headaches and trouble seeing at night/light sensitivity). If you live in the Friendswood area, look no further than UTMB health eye center! I brought my son in recently for a very troubling eye problem which two primary care docs thought was just an eye infection. It was diagnosed, after a very thorough eye exam, by the excellent Dr. Khan, as a condition known as Blepharitis.
