Best Computer Repairs in Town! – I had my computer back to me the following day! I came in expected the worst, and they made me feel good about getting my computer taken care of. The location was really convenient (they're a few blocks off the River Street exit, coming from Scotts Valley where I live). The best part is, everyone was really nice. Great service, reasonable prices – Was quoted a resonable price to have a pretty nasty virus removed. I was able to get my computer back the next day, and they charged for the time that they initially quoted. The staff was really nice, and they called twice to let me know how things were going. Very easy going experience.
Worst Customer Service Experience – This is a long story essentially spent a significant amount of money replacing a motherboard in a laptop - turn around time on that repair was ok ~ 18 days. Did not have a chance to use the repaired machine for ~ 2 months - ran it for 3 hours and the motherboard burnt out again. Returned it immediately - was told they would see what they could do but it was only warrantied for 30 days. Waited 8 weeks - made multiple phone calls finally got a reply - they would do nothing. My nephew does a better job – I think the title is self descriptive. They are overpriced and so completely technologically retarded that I cannot but amaze myself at their ratings. Of course seeing how little work they do in the shop it would not amaze me that they themselves wrote the reviews.
what a relief – I voted for User-Friendly computing in the "Best of Santa Cruz" issue of the city paper, and here's why: this is the only place that has fixed my computer right the first time-- and fast! Since I work from home, I am absolutely reliant on my computer working right, or I don't make money that day. Another reason to love Santa Cruz! – Here's another reason why I love living Santa Cruz. I first discovered these guys when I moved to Santa Cruz 5 years ago. I called a bunch of different places (most of who didn't answer their phone). Not only did they pick up the phone (no voicemail), but it turned out they were the only ones in town who said they could fix the broken DC jack on my laptop instead of telling me that I needed to buy a new motherboard.
