I’ve been a Keck patient since my two brain surgeries for chiari/syringomelia and hydrocephalus in 2021. Aside from my initial post surgical pain, albeit very bad the first couple of months following surgery due to complications, pain was managed very conservatively for years afterwards. Only in my last couple years or more has my pain needed to be controlled with opioid medication plus lyrica. I can not even begin to explain how I wish I could go back to only needing gabapentin to, not be “pain free” cuz what is even that? ... read more

I feel really bad giving them a bad review because everyone was so nice. The nurse was AWESOME. But nice as they were, the doctors were dismissive. Please I implore you to listen to patients (ESPECIALLY women), we actually do know our own bodies! I had severe back pain starting in October 2023. I went to this clinic in spring of 2024. With no imaging (other than an X-ray) they told me I had sacroiliac arthritis or something similar. I had an X-ray guided cortisone shot, which was no help. Other than $$, I will never understa... read more

Thanks to JR I was able to get the Journavx medication at Walgreens for $30. Walgreens on Crenshaw, sent me through changes. But JR did not let up. He was relentless, in a super nice way, and got my medication processed. We need more people like JR! JR works really hard! He needs a raise! I gave 4 STARS because Dr. Spalding needs to be a little more personable, listen, and get to know patients, first, before making statements that aren’t relatable. Some things you do not find out until you get there. But the entire staff is ... read more

I was referred to go see Dr. Mystery by my specialist. Made appointment for 2 weeks later. I came from an hour away and the office called me to said I had to go see a doctor that I don’t remember from 3 years ago via a telehealth. That is a ridiculous rule! WATCH OUT. They don’t let you change your doctor. Also, why did they not tell me this when booking. Will not be coming back.

This is a teaching clinic. Patients often have to deal with what I call "baby doctors". They have gotten their MD elsewhere, and pass through this clinic for various reasons. Maybe some plan to specialize in pain management, or a myriad of other reasons. They are generally young and inexperienced doctors. Some will clearly be very good medical providers, while an unfortunate number are rich kids who were unable to get accepted into other programs. Worse yet, some represent the worst of their field, filled with arrogance and ... read more
