Twelve years ago, when we moved to Portland, our house was surrounded by lawns and old fences. Urban Ecosystems developed a landscape plan and worked with us to implement it. We soon replaced our lawns with gardens and new trees, and ecological infrastructure that included French drains and rain barrels. They also replaced our aging stairway with natural stone, and replaced our rotting deck, so it now feels like a comfortable tree house. Jay took our tiny,mud pit of an urban backyard and turned it into a healing sanctuary. The only direction we have was that we wanted a pool and a hot tub and had limited space. He worked his magic and it is unbelievable what he did with our yard. I can NOT believe that I get to live here every day. Every last detail was thought of and it is crafted so well.
