Up with People changed my life and broadened my view of the world. I also gained a husband and now three children from my year in UWP. So happy I traveled! We now host exchange students so our children can be exposed to other cultures while they are too young to travel.
The year I traveled in UWP was probably the most formative year of my life. It was such a wonderful experience. I met so many life long friends (including my husband) and learned so much about the world. I also learned that all human beings, of every culture, are more alike than we are different. Such a great organization!
UWP is the best way for young people to travel with a cause and make a positive impact while they build bridges of understanding between communities, cultures and countries.

I could write a book about my years in UWP...it is simple, nothing beats the UWP experience....great performing, fantastic tour, unforgetable memories, friends for life and a lot more.... I will never forget this fantastic time in my life. I feel very fortunate to be part of the UWP family.
I met the world, and through host families, those who inhabit it, I met my closest friends who live in 20 countries, I met my wife of 24 years and in 1991, I met myself.
What a great year I've had in Up With People. It was awesome in so many ways: hostfamilies, castmembers, travelling, performing, experiencing.. LIVING!!! Thanks to all who made this possible. (I'm still in contact with friends; it's been 29 years....)
Best learning experience ever and made a liferime of friends!
