My year in up with people provided not only the "experience of a lifetime" but, a lifetime of experiences to continue learning from. I traveled 40 years ago and the friendships and connections remain stronger than ever! The learning came through travel, cross cultural experiences, living with host families, performing with people from around the world, and a sharing a vision to build bridges of communication between people and make the world better.
Up with People was defining to my life - no less. My years with the programme inspired me to embark on a career in venue management, association management, and performing arts administration, and taught me to treat all kinds of people, beliefs, environments, and circumstances with curiosity, appreciation, and respect.
An experience like none other. A year to experience things that would not have been opportunities available to me at home. I've met incredible people who I value and have become life long friends. A fantastic organization that strives to bring people of the world together.

UWP was by far the best thing that I could have ever done. I am not sure that I would have been able to grow the way I did during and after UWP if it had not been for the experience I had. My year allowed me to really figure out who I was and what I wanted to do in life. It also made me believe in people no matter what the world around me was doing. A belief I still stand on today!
