I took the class today with my son. I will admit I was worried with taking my son. It was great!!! If you have kids they are very good with children. And my son was the slowest of the group. Then he went faster than me. He way head of me at the finish.
Phil has a contagious enthusiasm for kayaking and a passion for teaching others about it! We had a blast, learned a lot and can't wait to go again.
I thought I knew how to kayak, but this class helped me fine tune my paddling skills and feel more comfortable in my kayak. Well worth it!
My 11-year-old son and I took the Quick Start Your Kayak class, and I'm so glad we did. Phil and Cyndi were excellent instructors, very patient and thorough in their demonstrations. We had done a few paddle trips before the class, but the instructors helped us refine our paddling technique. We even got to practice "wet exits" that my son thought were a complete blast. I took the Quick Start Your Kayak course today with Phil today and I would recommend anyone interested in paddling to do the same. Great fun in a safe learning atmosphere and Phil is a very patient and knowledgeable instructor. It will be time and money well-spent and a very enjoyable way to spend a day.
