These stars are purely for the nurse who taught me how to give myself injections and the people who did my bloodwork because they were lovely. As a trans person, however, the care realy felt sub-par. My first ever interaction with this office 2 years ago, the office person told me my insurance (BCBS) wasn't accepted after I mentioned wanting to transition as the reason for the appointment (another desk person later confirmed w some confusion that insurance is definitely accepted). If patients have Blue Cross/ care First insurance, they ate responsible for the facility fee of $222.40 for routine visits. Neither the office nor the insurer explained that with a new fiscal year, the patients would be liable for the fee. They took all day and did exactly what I told them not to do, they called in a prescription for Insulin Glargine to my normal pharmacy instead of calling a different brand of insulin to their pharmacy a... read more

I'm baffled by the negative reviews. I have been a patient with UMMS for almost 20 years. I've seen multiple providers over those years, and while each one had strengths and weaknesses, not a single one made me feel like they weren't 100% committed to my needs and goals as a patient. On top of that, the office staff is friendly and loving, welcoming and funny. They always have been. Every endocrinologist in this office is board certified. Look it up. If you need a stellar provider, I've been seeing Dr. Malek for over 10 year... read more
