Receptionists and nurses are nice and helpful, but you can kiss your appointment goodbye if you are even a few minutes late. It takes 5 minutes max to administer allergy injections and then you wait in the lobby (which I've never seen crowded) for 30 minutes in case you have a reaction (all they have to do is set a timer and then check you when time's up). I’m a graduating senior and I’ve been going to the JMU Health Center since freshman year, probably over 35 times at this point LOL, and I’ve never had a bad experience. The doctors, receptionists and check out ladies are super professional and helpful, and it’s honestly the easiest doctor’s office I’ve ever been to in my life. I don't know why JMU UHC is deserving so much hate. Everytime, I go in for an appt the staff are super nice and prompt they want you to feel better ASAP. They also have all the equipment for various testing if you need. Overall, I love going to UHC whenever I have a situation and never had a bad experience with them.
I went to the health center with inflammed tonsils and a lot of pain in my throat. Doctor tested me for strep and came back negative. Said I would feel better in a few days and said viral sore throat and did absolutely nothing for me, Told me to get checked out somewhere after 5 days if i was still sick. Got worse, 2 days later went to urgent care. Tested positive for strep and got antibiotics. This place puts you off and doesn’t care. Don’t go here just go to urgent care.
