People are nice, but not helpful. I was told counseling is free at FSU through tuition. It was not and I only went to a few intakes before they referred me out
I visited the counseling center a couple of times. Even though I can tolerate a long wait as a walk-in, the woman wearing glasses at the reception desk makes me even more fearful and increases my anxiety. I’m happy with the counselors by now, though.
Awful place! Here’s what they didn’t tell me when I came in having a panic attack with my abusive ex bf. 1) you will be forced to fill out the same paperwork you already filled out online 2) you must wait in a waiting room that doesn’t allow cellphones. I didn’t have anything else to do so i spiraled further and became very self-conscious of how anything I could do would bother other people so I held it all in. Many things awful about my experience with the counseling center. I just wanted to make sure people know to be very careful with what you disclose to them. I feel traumatized after my experience following my visit to the counseling center, and am in a worse place than before I came in.
