Awful place! Here’s what they didn’t tell me when I came in having a panic attack with my abusive ex bf. 1) you will be forced to fill out the same paperwork you already filled out online 2) you must wait in a waiting room that doesn’t allow cellphones. I didn’t have anything else to do so i spiraled further and became very self-conscious of how anything I could do would bother other people so I held it all in. Many things awful about my experience with the counseling center. I just wanted to make sure people know to be very careful with what you disclose to them. I feel traumatized after my experience following my visit to the counseling center, and am in a worse place than before I came in.

Dr. Erin was the best individual session therapist I’ve ever had! She made me feel so comfortable and it was easy to open up to her. Ms. Yvonne was an amazing group therapist. Her group really helped me open up my last 2 semester at FSU. Couldn’t ask for anyone better!

The older I get, the more it upsets me that I did not receive the help I needed sooner. When I was seeing a counselor at FSU about 6 years ago, they were not a good fit for me, but I was not allowed to change counselors. Anytime I brought up something challenging during a session, my counselor seemed to quickly avert the conversation to something else so I wouldn't talk about my issues.
