I had PPD after my son was born, and the providers here referred me to a therapist who was not perinatal mental health certified, nor had received any type of training for helping new moms. This therapist gave damaging advice that took me years to work through. In light of recent news events, I now realize the degree of negligence from UnityPoint midwives. Hopefully, the practice has adjusted its efforts to provide moms with high-quality mental health care during all steps of pregnancy and motherhood.
Skilled, compassionate, and kind providers that help you feel safe and seen. Most of my experiences have been good. Shout-out to Sara and Michelle in particular for making things easier as well as to the scheduling team for getting me in on a tight schedule.
Short story: They did not respect my birth plan preferences and refused to correct an insurance coding error, sticking me with a bill I didn't need to have.
