Amazing people here
I got to leave voluntarily after I admitted myself, but, then when I went back and wanted to leave again as I felt ready to go home, the psych team was adamant on sending me to Cedar Hills where I told them I wanted to go home and was told that my stay at Unity was voluntary. Not true as they were pretty pushy sending me somewhere I did not want to be, and then I got trapped there as Cedar Hills has locked doors and won't let anyone in or out without a code.
My experience at Unity was very reassuring. From beginning to end, I met helpful, kind and caring people. My psychiatrist was incredibly empathetic. My nurses were kind and even entertaining (Jez?). This was my lowest point. I had been too scared to go to Unity, but it was a good experience. And the food, compared to the hospital I ended up at, was excellent -- best thick oatmeal ever!
Most of the people there are great but my last visit my dr there believed my abuser and put me on a hold. That was my safe space and I will never go back there ever. The nurses are great though. They can help you but just be wary because they just assume you're insane and just drug you up most of the time. I went into psychosis because of how they dealt with my situation.
