i was there after i made an attempt on my life, the staff there were really sweet and helped me with my meds and my wants/ needs. the groups are good and they arent a lot of pressure and youre not even forced to go to them. it isnt a long program either. the people there are cool too but you dont get much of an opportunity to get to meet them as much as other programs that ive been at . the food there js pretty good but the showers suck but overall its a really good place and its a lot better than youd think for a psych ward... read more

This place is such a waste..This area is in dire need of a hospital that only focuses on mental health and unfortunately they put more money into the pamphlet and business model than actual health. Everyone I've asked about sending someone in crises there has warned me against unity and has said Providence. When I picked up my brother from triage I saw hard chairs with heavily medicated people. Taken here against my will for a mental health crisis. I was nonviolent, not on any drugs or in any form of withdrawal. I was suicidal secondary to a bad PTSD episode. I wanted to know where I was and what my rights were, and wanted to speak to whomever was signing the hold (normally a physician). I initially didn't want to change into the paper scrubs they were handing me. The nurses and psychiatrists were very nice and went above and beyond to help me through a scary time. It is true that it could be better - the big open room with chairs is not great for anxiety or people struggling with PTSD like myself. I have other concerns with unity as well (healthcare privacy being a big one), but I still would go back if I needed to, because I'd rather be there than dead.
