You can save yourself a long wait for the metro and a transfer by walking down Mass Ave to H St. through Chinatown to the Chinatown metro stop. Only a 10 minute walk.
While the trains and food court make for a very convenient and cheap experience, the men's restroom was absolutely disgusting! Toilet paper everywhere, urine on the floor and seats, just gross!
No need place close
Unlike Penn Station, the tracks are announced pretty early ahead of time. Get to your train's waiting fairly early in order to get close to the front of the line.
I love the foodcourt here :)
If you're planning on cabbing from Union Station, bring cash. DC cabs rarely take credit cards cuz this city blows. Without cash, prepare to wait.
