The food court is disappointing. Mostly fast food chain restaurants. That being said, Pot Belly had great toasted sandwiches.

Why don't the escalators ever work?!
If BWI station in convenient to you I strongly suggest that station over Penn or Union, much smaller, less people.....simple station!
There is a Bojangles at the food court
The Big Bus tour is fantastic, especially the Night Tour during the summer!
Go upstairs and sit for awhile. Admire the architecture (though under restoration). Oh yeah, and Starbucks has free wifi near Amtrak. And don't sit on the floor, security will yell at you.
Union Station is so much less disgusting than it used to be. Well done, DC. Well done.
