I can not believe this company is still in business. They came to us asking us to refinance our home. After making us go through all kinds of hoops and stringing us along for months, they tell us the VA raised their point system and would not be able to continue with the loan. A month ago I was going to go to my own bank and refinance and their loan officer Michael ** ******said, "Oh no, don't do that we are about to close". I not satisfied work of the Union Home Mortgage. I applied for Miami branch to get mortgage and buy property in Clearwater, Florida. Mortgage broker started to work on mortgage and stop after while. Reason. No flood insurance on building and no chance to get mortgage, this is FEMA requirement. Why mortgage broker did not check in the FEMA, flood insurance on building, before before to start process, special for Florida?. Flood insurance this is public information, easy to get. I started a 203k limited refinance on my home 313 days ago and I still have no firm closing date. I keep getting told they are ready to close, then I get told they need one more piece of paperwork. I supply it, another 6 weeks go by. Something has expired. Then it starts all over again. This has been a year of a living hell caused my this company. A year with no air conditioning in the summer, no heat in the winter.

Bait and switch. Promised a 3-week close, turned into a 7 week nightmare. Sellers almost walked several times, and in the end I had to pay them out of pocket to stay in the deal. Loan officer only took action after I called his boss. Poor communication, would never work with them again.

I have four main complaints with Union Home Mortgage. 1) Even though nothing changed year over year in my tax and insurance payments they miscalculated my escrow payment to the tune of -$1500. When made aware of this they responded “Well didn’t we lower your monthly payments last year?”. My mortgage company was recently bought by Union Home. I had previously paid my rental home mortgage via auto-pay through my bank. This month I contacted my bank and asked them to stop my auto-payment and I would set up payments through Union's website. Easy enough -- except when my bank reversed the payment, Union charged me a NSF fee. What??? I am paying you dolts through your own system. I wasn't going to pay you double. I have a mortgage through Union Home Mortgage. I technically have two properties and this was all very clear on all of the paperwork signed at the closing back in the fall of 2016. I pay my mortgage on time, every single month. A couple months ago I received a Notice of Tax Sale. This came as shock. As soon as I received the notice I got in touch with Union Home Mortgage customer service, which is a nightmare. Terrible customer service and an awful automated phone system. Their website is also difficult to use. If you have automatic payments set up and never have any issues, everything is fine but as soon as there is an issue they are like ghosts.
