The billing department is awful and repeatedly mischarges claims for both me and my husband. They are misleading about provider credentials—my COVID visit was booked through MyChart as primary care with no provider name shown, and the website listed the provider as a family practice physician, yet I was billed as seeing a specialist. This has been the worst billing experience I’ve ever had. From the start, the billing team couldn’t even enter my first name correctly—an issue that took nearly a year to fix. After that, they submitted an insurance claim with an invalid address (and likely other incorrect information). It then took UNC about six months to resend a corrected claim to my insurance. Had an appointment scheduled for Friday, they called me the morning of a few hours before my appointment to tell me the earliest they could reschedule me is 3 weeks later. I tried to explain i've been having pain and issues for a while now and needed to see someone today. They told me to go to an urgent care. Thanks UNC!
after waiting 40 days for my medical records to be sent to a new provider, they sent the wrong person’s records. their doctors do the bare minimum and their record keeping dept doesn’t do anything at all. if you want proper care, go to duke. avoid unc at all costs. wouldn’t even go here if i were dying because they’d somehow find a way to screw that up too
