My husband is on workmans comp from New York. This office has gone above and beyond to get on the portal and provide service for my husband, even though the New York board was denying the services that were needed. Persistence prevailed and my husband has finally gotten his first epidural injection. Dr. Mauck and his staff are true heros for not giving up on services for my husband.
The staff and doctors are nice and understanding and truly want to get your pain to a level that you can do things. For me I hope I can go back to work. I had my left lung partially removed from cancer in July 2025 and I had throat cancer in 2021. I have a shot gun blast from 2006 to my left shoulder. I had a bad semi accident in 2010 and another in 2020. I've been on pain med for over 20 years. He said he could get me out of alot of the pain and get off opiates. I have never been to this facility for pain management. I am in severe pain and I called Dr. Kathlee Letizia my primary for help..She said she saw my name on a list for getting meds from Hillsborough Pain Clinic. I have never been there in my life. How did my name get on a list for opiates when I have never ever been there? Can someone please explain this situation. I want this terrible error rectified and my name off this list. I'm steaming mad.
Contacted pain management at UNC after referral from UNC doc and was basically told there probably would be a two week period of time for them to decide if my wife was an appropriate candidate and then appointments were a couple months out. The contact person on the phone was very impersonal and spent more time relating what they could not do. This is very unusual for the many wonderful docs and staff throughout the UNC system. They have earned their three star rating. Too bad.
UNC Spine Center sent my referral over as I’m already a UNC patient as well as neurology patient and called today to schedule my appointment as advised by Casey Clarke at UNC Spine Center, spoke with Emily who told me she did see the referral and request and she’s waiting on the pre approval to be approved through their department to schedule an appointment.
