My house burned don on dec17 2011 it took 3 days to finelly get ahold of some one. then they tried lowballing my property,so I had to get a lawyer, today is dec4 2012 still no house but getting closer but my main issue is how can an insurance co keep charging me for home insurance when they know its burned down. Is that not fraud and a federal offense. So if anyone else has problems maybe we should get a group together they will not let me post this untill I rate this buisness so I will choose one star but they don,t deserve... read more
The company is hard to get a hold of. For a claim, one needs to get a hold of the agent first. They then relay your potential claim to the head office. Some days will go by before one hears back and then it is via an adjuster, who wants to know why... We did not receive a notice to pay for the years policy and within 20 days there was a notice of cancellation of policy sent. No phone call. If possible, one ought to check out other insurers and compare. Umialik is not consumer friendly.
