Umbertos pizza – Cheese pizza. sounds plane right? but its not here! its the BEST cheese and the best sauce. amazing. i am 5'2 and 120 lbs and i could eat a whole large pizza if u let me. best pizza joint and ive tasted marcella's which is my second best. and anthony's cold fire, and vocelli's, and oasis greek pizza-which is on the beach. just to name a few. and this is still my fav. i get it delivered and pick it up, and they r always on time. great service. and the garlic rolls are yummy too:)
Umberto's - A great Family Restaurant!! – I LOVE this restaurant! It has be a neighborhood favorite for years. I am a huge fan of seafood dishes and I can't say enough about the seafood at Umberto's. I love there Seafood Casino; delicious, the Seafood Feast for two red or white is an excellent choice for a romantic dinner for two, there Shrimp Scampi is divine, and the baked clams, yummy YUM (we always order two orders). If you want a great seafood dinner, you must try Umberto's.
Not Recommended – I went to Umberto's last Sunday with some friends and it was not a pleasant experience. The service was slow and rude, the food was boring and tasteless, and the decor was a nightmare. It seems to cater mostly to the elderly and it shows in their clientele (ie. the bland food and outdated ambiance) I felt like I was in Century Village.
I hated this RESTAURANT – I WENT TO UMBERTO'S A FEW WEEKS AGO AND THE NEW HOSTESS WAS JUST RUDE AND MEAN, NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. SHE TOLD ME I COULDN'T SIT WHERE I WANTED. LATER, I FOUND OUT SHE WAS THE OWNER'S WIFE. THE FOOD WAS PLAIN AND SLOPPY. I WON'T EVER COME BACK AGAIN AND I RECOMMEND THAT YOU DON'T EITHER
A New Yorker's Dream in Florida As a stuck up native New Yorker, I am one of many who boasts that you can only find the best of every kind of food in New York City. Not true with Umberto's, which is located in Florida, but ironically owned by former New Yorkers. Great Italian food and New York style pizza is available at this reasonable priced family spot.
avoid any and all nights – We visited the restaurant with our extended family. The waitress took 10 minutes before greeting us, another 15 minutes before bringing our drinks and then forgot to put in the kids order. Their food came after everyone was finished. The waitress then lied to the manager, who in turn insulted us and accused us of wanting to skimp on the bill. This is obviously not a customer service establishment.
As a Pizza joint this is great. – Don`t bother wasting your time ordering anything else. The owners don`t seem to care much about Food Prep. Veal, Shrimp and Chicken dishes really need enlightenment! Salads and Soups are subpar at best! Good wait staff, if only they knew what to tell people how to order. Claim theyir from Long Island by way of Staten Island maybe!!!
