HSA with umb got sent to an unclaimed funds. I called them repeatedly in the last year telling them that I still needed the account. They closed the account and when I called them to ask why they had not documented any of the previous conversation. The organization is terrible to work with do not use them.

Beware of petty bank fees: Paper statement fee: $1.50 Monthly service change: $2.95 The fees are minimal in cost, but none of my other bank accounts have these outrageous fees.

After banking with UMB for over a decade, had 2 overdrafts last year. Placed a TEN DAY hold on my paycheck - obviously causing more overdrafts and fees. Today is the the tenth day of the hold and I still do not have MY money. Contacted the bank today (2/26) to ask why I don't have MY money yet. They confirmed yes, the "the money will be released on the 26th at midnight." My best efforts to explain how DAYS work and that midnight is the 27th, making it an 11 day hold btw, were brushed aside as ridiculous. Cannot wait to close... read more

I have held a credit card with this bank for over 20 years recently tried to pay off my balance before the balance due date was not able to do it through my auto-pay so i called and spoke with the representative after the third attempt I was able to bring down my balance so I could keep using my card to gain the reward points, so the next auto payment I was overcharged almost 4,000 on my balance I called and got the runaround had to call back five times before a representative seen the mistake they issued me a check for the ... read more

I would rate UMB a zero if possible. I've tried all weekend to sign up for online banking so I could close my account but of course the website was down. They are outright crooks, charging 2.95$ monthly service charge, rarely send statements so you don't see your money disappearing, 25$ to close my account which is 79$, and say it will take 30 days to close. I'm waiting to see the owners on the TV show American Greed in the future. They are the definition of what's wrong with the world today.

UMB is a terrible bank. Their customer service is non-existent and they screw their customers every chance they get. I deposited a Federal Tax refund check and they put a 7 business day (10 actual calendar days!) hold on it because they said they couldn't be sure the check would clear. What a bunch of baloney!

They are the worst bank in the US. They will create new fees and just start taking money out of your accounts. The gov should shut down this bank. They are white collar criminals.

I've been with UMB Bank for more than 50 years. I am an older person. I was looking at my checking account statement this month and saw a $20 checking account service charge which has never been there before. I called and was told I had received a letter in the mail saying that I had to pick one choice from among several plans for my account and that everyone who didn't send in their preference would have UMB choose for the choice the best choice for you.
