I left this apartment on rough terms in 2022 the year I graduated. Today we finished moving the last bit of my sister’s stuff into her apartment; we walk to the pool and the water is literally green colored. I’ve lived here for 2 years. Living here is like playing roulette. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a beautiful and well maintained unit. If you’re not, you end up with mold, bugs, mice, or just an apartment in bad condition due to bad tenants. I will say not everything falls on the management, college kids tend to treat the place like garbage. No amount of cleaning and maintenance can fix the bags and bags of trash people leave outside the trash room or the general disrespect for units. Ion Tuscaloosa is hands down one of the best places to live as a student at UA. The vibe is modern, social, and super convenient. The apartments are stylish and fully furnished, which made moving in a breeze. Having my own room and bathroom has been a huge plus, and the kitchen/living area is perfect for hanging out with roommates or hosting friends. The amenities are where Ion really shines. If I could put 0 stars I would. Horrible to work with and I have not even moved in. Do not be under the impression you are going to live with someone you add to your group, because you are not. They are very sneaky and allow roommates to switch rooms without notice. They bug you to sign your lease and make you sign your life away on the lease as well as another member under your lease. Be sure to FULLY read the lease that is extremely long before signing it. Do NOT trust them.
