Dr. Lazerchek (aka Dr. Laser Chick) ER Dept. Is an exemplary asset to the local Gainesville healthcare community. Highly capable, intelligent, assertive, kind and excellent bed side manner. She was quick attentive and an excellent team leader alongside Dr. Ren. I was in a tough spot this week. Next time I find myself in a similar spot. I hope Dr. Laser Chick (respectfully) and team are close by.
This hospital as a whole is absolutely disappointing! If I could give less stars it would be far less. My wife has has gotten third degree burn from a nurse putting a microwaved washcloth on her lower stomach as a hot compress, told to take her insulin pump off then the nurses can’t keep up with her diabetes so her blood sugar goes over 300 and ends up in DKA, told that she needs to be on a gastroparesis diet then they bring her hamburgers and chicken Alfredo and such, the care is inconsistent and in to much of a hurry to ru... read more
In May on a recorded phone line, the hospital offered me a 20% discount if I settled the bill in full full, including a 600 bill that they said I couldn't yet see on my end. I agreed and settled the entire bill. Now they are continuing to pursue me for that $600 charge, of which I actually already paid 80% of. In August, they apologized for mistakenly including it in the total and insist that I owe the entire $600. This is, in legal terms, bad faith. They refuse to own their mistake. UF Shands, profit over people.
