They told me I had cancer and when it turned out to be some rare thing, they’ve never seen before they didn’t care at all. Shands in general is a horrible hospital
As always - a terrible experience at UF. They dont care about the individual, but rather making a quota. When they ask you "How are you doing?" And before you answer they say "Good". No explanation on how to use an inhaler, no recommendation to use a spacer. No empathy on medication side effects. They dont care.
Dr. Ali Attaya is a wonderful, caring physician who takes time to sit down, look you straight in the eye, and give you all the answers to your questions. He does it with kindness and compassion while maintaining a high level of professionalism. He remembers personal details about his patients which lets us know we are not just a number on his research roster. If he ever leaves this facility, I’m going with him!
My Neurologist, Primary & Pulmonary doctor suspect I have Narcolepsy with Cataplexy. My appointment was made several months ago & this facility was my last hope. My condition is dangerous as in my sleep state I i have set my hair on fire twice & swallowed metal beads twice & falling injurying myself countless times.
