My family was told that UCSF is the best place to go for seizure like symptoms. But when you go to pickup your loved one and they are completely comatose and having no movement in there arms or legs. And they still have the audacity to discharge him and when you speak to the doctor and he yells at you, "what do you want me to do, I can't make him walk!" Horrible bed side manner and had to speak to a patient advocate to get a lift to get them in the car and got out of there as quickly as possible. The worst medical establishm... read more

Went is the brain surgery in 1990, at the age of 17. Establish with UCSF epilepsy division 1987, at the age of 14. Dr. Kenneth was my neurologist, head of UCSF epilepsy division, Maryann Ward was his nurse practitioner, that helped me with various things, Dr. John Walker was my neuropsychologist, and Dr. Nicolas Barbaro was my surgeon. Dr. Knowlton of the UCSF Epilepsy Center is a brilliant neurologist. After years of having at least 3 or more seizures a month, I sought out the UCSF Epilepsy Center. During my first appointment with Dr. Knowlton he shared with me the likely cause for my seizures. I choose to have my seizures treated there at UCSF and he was correct! I encourage anyone who has seizures to visit the UCSF Epilepsy Center. They are among the best in the world. I'm currently 3 months post surgery and I remain seizure free.
