I have worked with UCLA extension students time and time again and they all lack industry knowledge, professionalism, and the ability to think critically. I have had very poor experiences with directors from the ucla extension as they are sexist and unwilling to work with you even though the scope of the project is unrealistic given the budget and time frame. Overall I have not had any good experiences with alumni/students of the extension program.

I would say UCLA extension is a "crap shoot". It really depends on the instructor you get. So, for anyone considering it, research the instructor as much as you can. Read their online reviews and try to get as much info as possible to see if they will be a good one. I've taken 2 writing courses and both were good. The same could not be said about the Egyptology coarse I took awhile back. The instructor was uninspired, boring and made no sense. UCLA Extension is such a money grab, especially for international students. For me the international fee was more than the actually tuition fee (9k just in fees) And what’s worse, until I requested it removed everyone in Canvas could see other students enrollment including anyone on an F1 visa status because of a mandatory F1 course which is a serious breach of student confidentiality!
