They seemed annoyed that I was there for the last appointment of the day (which I had to do because of my work schedule) and my blood wasn't flowing as quickly as they wanted it to. I keep getting messages that they need my blood type, but that experience makes me hesitate to go again.
3 bad experiences, lost paperwork and wasted time not being allowed to donate or waiting for over an hour after appointment time then being turned away.
I have been voluntarily donating here for several years. Overall it's been a good experience. Today I was turned down. In the past I had occasional afib with beta blockers managing the condition which was always disclosed and was never a problem. 3 months ago I had an ablation that corrected the issue. Because I had recently taken the beta blockers as I weened off the need for them I was denied donation because a doctor subjectively decided I was still being treated for the condition which I am not. Pathetic. As soon as they ask you questions that should have been on a survey they deny you. My doctor said it would be good to go donate blood. No medical emergency, simply elevated red blood cell count. Their response was I need a prescription to donate blood. Waste of time going here.
