I recently had a tonsillectomy at UCSD Hillcrest and received my prescriptions at the hospital while in Post Op. My doctor prescribed a 10-day supply of pain medication, including extra strength Tylenol and Oxycodone (Roxicodone). However, the pharmacist informed me that neither my primary nor secondary insurance would cover a 10-day supply of Roxicodone, which seems unusual given that I previously received a morphine prescription for previous tonsil abscesses without issue.
