ubuntu is committed to giving back to our community and environment. we are active recyclers and are proud to be a green circle salon, which is a recycling/repurposing program that diverts salon waste, including plastics, color tubes, papers, and chemicals out of our water systems and landfills. even the hair we sweep up is repurposed and used to clean up oil spills, as a garden aid to keep away rabbits and deer, as well as a natural fertilizer. ubuntu is a no tipping salon and any gratuities are donated to charities. we car... read more

LOVE Ubuntu! �This studio offers exceptional services, top of the line eco friendly products, supports social & environmental causes, is a conscious "sacred commerce" run business and is BEAUTIFUL!!! My hair highlight are painted on "balayage" style that looks soooo natural and amazing. The cuts also are so flattering and stylish. I adore the owner Dawn and all the gals there!!! Ubuntu Hair Studio is one of a kind! The staff are not only masters at what they do, but they do more than just hair! Giving back to the world is one of their main priorities through the products they use & the products they sell to the no tipping policy. You can donate to a charity instead. I love who they are and the stand that they are for the world to be a better place. Best hair salon around:)
Just love this hair studio! When I come to San Diego, this is one of my fav' place to go! A true moment of relaxation, of beauty and creativity! And a pleasure to see Serena again, who is the best hair stylist I have ever had! She is an artist!
