Tavi played in my 11 year old heads she started off with twist then started braiding never let her play in your kids head cuz that’s what she does. The shop owner rude all over the place and took 3 hours and still didn’t finish my son’s hair and has the nerve to still be trying to charge my card. Traveled to DC for work and stumbled across Twist It Sista for a loc retwist and style and I’m SO GLAD I did! I called ahead and was seen within an hour. First off, the salon is GORGEOUS: beautiful art, plants, spotless, music (neo soul) was on point, and there was free coffee, tea, water and other refreshments. My stylist, Tavia, was so gentle and knowledgeable. She recommended some products for me throughout the service and gave me the best wash + deep conditioning I’ve had in a while. I had to cancel my original appt roughly 24 hrs beforehand due to illness. I ended up in the ER on the day of my appt. I was charged a $50 deposit for this appt. When I rescheduled, the receptionist did not inform me that the deposit would only be retained and applied to the new appt if I rescheduled with the same person. I had no stylist preference, so it seems she would have just picked the same person or at least given me the heads up. This did not occur, so I ended up eating the 1st deposit. My stylist was drunk and smelled like a bottle of booze. He kept walking in and out the salon leaving people at the wash station. He also was speaking about some toxic patriarchy stuff that I did not want to hear nor feel comfortable with as a woman. Secondly, I’ve been getting my hair done for years.
