Twains Restaurant is FANTASTIC!!!! Best restaurant ever! Great food, great atmosphere, great service, named after the greatest person ever. AND there is a man who's job is only to refill drinks, Loves it so very much. I try and eat here every week!
good malts, burgers & fries They don't take credit cards, so be sure you have cash. Old time waitresses & a 1950s diner w/ a counter that has not changed. Grilled burgers (ask for the fries to be cooked longer), refills on ice tea or coffee, shakes & malted milks... with the Formica 'decor' will cause you to think you've gone back in time.
:) twains!!! Some of the staff have probably been there 25+ years. You can tell because they know the menu and are really friendly. You don't go to Twain's to get amazing food... you go to get a big plate of greasy hashed browns for very cheap, or at 1:00 after prom because they're still open. Good food, casual coffee shop This place had great food for the price. Since It's in Studio City it is also somewhere that celebrities tend to frequent from what my friends tell me. They have your basic coffee shop selections, but I seem to remember the french toast was a favorite of mine.
DARE to say no to Twain's I had heard that Twain's was a popular restaurant to go to after the bars and clubs close up around LA and one night I decided to go there. Big mistake... For one the service was pretty slow, though that was to be expected on a Saturday night at 2:30am. By the time our waitress did show up she had a pretty bad attitude and it looked like she was working her 25th hour or she had been out drinking herself. Horrible. I went here once (read: once) after a night out (read: drunken night out) and was looking forward to good ol' greasy diner food. I had low expectations and even those weren't met. The food was horrendous. I would not recommend to anyone.
My Favorite This is my favorite restaurant! My boyfriend and I always make sure to eat here at least twice every trip we make to Hollywood. I have not spotted a celebrity yet, but I go there for the unbeatable prices, the fabulous food, and the cozy diner atmosphere. I love it and Highly Recommend it for the weary traveler looking for a pleasant bite to eat.
Good Food This is one of those San Fernando Valley places to try and spot the celebrity on the patio. You never know who might be eating there. The food is good. Greasy, but good. The service could use a little improving. The prices are fine.
