Terrible Service – I read reviews on this site and saw it was best of 2007 so we went last night. We got there and I was excited about the place because it was cute, inexpensive, fun...However, they were out of caprese (that's ok, it happens)but the server had the busser bring out my husband's entree and forgot mine. 20 minutes went by and he didn't come near our table so I could ask where my food was. After 20 minutes I told the hostess and she sent him over and he asked what I was missing, not even apologizing! I asked him... read more

great food, great music, great staff, great prices, warm friendly experience – Visited recently only based on citysearch description and reviews. My fiance and I were completely satisfied with our experience. waiter was very helpful and friendly, owner came over to say hello and make sure we were happy. Food was excellent, and the music (jazz) was outstanding. Prices very reasonable. We live in OC, but will definitely return whenever in the area and will recommend to friends.

One of the Best Places in Town!!! – I wanted to go to a nice place to have a glass of wine and some Tapas. I searched online and found this GREAT restaurant/bar in Pacific Beach. The place is not on Garnet Ave, so it makes it even better because there is not tons of people trying to find parking and there is a more selective crowd. The owner, Basilio, makes sure you have a wonderful time and a great service. The staff is unbelivable!!! The food is one of the best I've had in San Diego... and the best thing is they have LIVE ... read more

BEST SPOT IN PACIFIC BEACH – I live in the heart of Pacific Beach and The Turquoise Cafe Bar Europa has become one of my favorite spots to eat and have a delicious glass of wine 1 to 3 times a week. The service is excellent on time, and the people are wonderful, personal, and a blast to share my dining experience with. I love the live Jazz music played several times a week. The Capri salad is my favorite and it?s just too hard to choose a favorite tapas; they are ALL amazing. I don?t usually write reviews but I am just so in... read more

Dear Tasty Eater, were you having a bad day? – I don't know why more people like me haven't written in before, honestly, this is my very favorite place in San Diego! It is true the service can be slow, but cold food?, what are you thinking, the tortilla is supposed to be cold! I met the chef and know the mushrooms are not only made fresh, but are organically grown. The house wines are from the wooden cask, direct from local vineyards, the only place I have ever seen with this stuff, and I think the wines are great!, their se... read more

Nasty wine, cold food, longest wait for food ever – Waitress did not know anything about wines except which was the most popular one. The house wines, grenaches lacked all body and flavor. The tapas took forever to come out and there were only four tables full at the time we went. The tortilla Espanola was cold, the "marinated mushrooms" were most surely the button type mushrooms from a can, although the caprese was ok. But then again how can you mess up cheese and a slice of tomato? Limited selection of wines. Not recommend... read more

Miles away from Garnet... – I love this place so much - I almost don't want to let anyone else in on it. Super romantic, great live music, excellent food, and incredible ambiance (very un-PB). Definitely go for after work drinks/tapas with friends and come back for some flamenco music and dancing for a romantic night. Food is slow-paced, so don't be in rush. But look out for the overly-amorous owner that patrols the bar with open wine bottles.

Best Tapas Anywhere – I have been all over Europe and this little bistro really nailed it. The feel is like unreal, out of the memories of past vacations, pasted together with a thousand images from old movies, traveling through europe. I remember something somewhere of a black jazz singer in paris, and I remember my days in madrid in the 90's. Its a very lade back hang with a crazy group of over educated and generally articulate people. I have been there a dozen times and if i'm not just kicking it enjoying the sangria, I'm... read more
