I brought my cat in 3 times over a month for the same problem, which was a UTI/crystals in the urine. I saw a different vet each time and the first 2 did not get a urine sample (said there was no urine in his bladder) and did not take steps to get a urine sample. Without running any tests, they said it was behavioral and suggested some environmental and food changes, which I implemented with no success.
