Their behavior is indicative of racism and prejudice, both which are mental and emotional illnesses that have no place in a wellness based business. Deeply disappointed and heartbroken by how a breast cancer survivor was treated. In the silicone heights location today… I never imagined I’d have to write a review like this, but what happened at Tropical Smoothie Cafe today was truly unacceptable. A breast cancer survivor, someone who has already been through more than most of us can imagine, tried to use a valid VIP card at the counter. We received VIP tickets at a breast cancer walk and every black person that has tried to use them at the silicone heights location has been turned away and told the tickets are fraudulent even though they were given to us by the Academy location and is redeemable at all locations smh. It’s giving Jim crow vibes and outright racism. Even the store manager refused to give their email so that we may render our in kind donation letter and ein# for our non profit that acquired the VIP cards to begin with.
