Tribeca Skin Center was conceived to offer dermatology on an individualized basis. We strive towards simple, intelligent, dedicated decisions in diagnosing and solving skin problems. Skin is a personal issue. Therapy and comfort is our endeavor, whether it's working with a person's interest in natural or eastern therapies, or special attention to skin of color, or just a reassuring explanation. We welcome those who wish to be educated about their options, and make informed choices for themselves.

Unbelievably rude staff and terrible service! I had an appointment with Dr. Tara Rao, but was denied medical treatment after traveling to the office from a different borough. Upon arrival, I was told that in order to be seen by the doctor they must first have a credit card on file so that they can charge me without having to notify me first (despite the fact that they accept my insurance and there is no copay). When I asked for an explanation, I was told to take my business elsewhere and to "see myself out." I could not beli... read more
Terrible Human Being – I was considering Accutane, and as a college student, was a bit worried about going six months with a single drop of alcohol. I voiced this concern to Dr. Parikh on the couple of occasions I saw him. The last time I saw him, my parents came along just to see what kind of care I was receiving. With absolutely no warning, he demanded of my parents point-blank whether or not they thought I was an alcoholic, while I was sitting right there in front of them. It was one of the most humiliating, excruciating ... read more
Terrible Liars – At the end of 2011, I went in for a consultation on a potential mole remover. I specifically asked two questions: (1) what is the cost of the consultation and (2) is there a co-pay. Both questions were answer as no. A month later, without receiving a bill or any other notice, I was charged $57.71. I was told my the billing manager than my insurance was charged $175. I was lied to. They are liars. I have no opinion on their actual medical services, but their business dealings are quite unsavory.
FIRST & LAST VIIST – To Whom It May Concern: Today was my first and last visit to the "Tribeca Skin Center." I obtained the name through my insurance as a participating provider. I called due to a possible emergency, and they were able to see my right away. The person I spoke with by phone took my insurance information, and did not mention the "NEED" to keep a credit card on file. Upon arrival, I was rudely told by a male receptionist that this was the policy, and the paper was "SHOVED" under my face until I signed it. I did... read more
Great Dermatologist but Overpriced – I did have a good experience at Tribeca Skin Center, mostly because Dr. Parikh is really affable, but I do strongly believe that it is overpriced. The offices are beaultiful, and if that is important to you, you wont mind that the prices are padded to pay their rent. Dr. Parikh is super friendly and grascious and I would go to him in a heartbeat if I had a serious skin problem. However, he did overpromise and underdeliver on one of my procedures. He told me that the Vbeam would eradicate ... read more
Avoid Tribeca Park Dermatologists – This is one of the worse experiences I have ever had with a doctor's office. I encourage you to look at the dates on these reviews because you will see those that are more recent are almost all unanimous in their low marks. The short version is my appt. was rescheduled and when I arrived they had no record of it on the books. Cue the rudeness from the receptionist and office manager. I was given the gift of five minutes with Dr. Granite who was SO RUDE to me that I would have paid the exor... read more
avoid dr. Granite – I thought I escaped racism when I came to NY..but dr. granite changed my views...she mentioned how difficult it was to treat black skin...are you kidding me...I will never go back to her again
Unprofessional Practices – They charged my credit card $228 for an insurance deductible before waiting for my insurance provider to process the claim in full. When brought to their attention they were very rude and I was told to find my services somewhere else. They had me put a credit card on file and had me sign a paper giving them the right to charge unpaid services. This is now standard practice in many offices, but all my other providers send me a bill for deductibles and allow me the chance to pay them. I went in perso... read more
Super-rude staff – I heard great things about the doctor. I never got to see him because the front office staff was so rude. I read around and i'm not the first to comment about their bad service. Be very careful what you provide on their "secure" online registration system. The information they collect can leave you open to fraud and identity theft and goes far beyond what any doctor should need to know - especially online. They will also ask you to put a credit card on file for some future costs and ask you to sign away ri... read more
