I just found this jewel of a restaurant on line and booked it. The reviews were great so a new adventure for us. It was just outstanding. You are greeted at the door, did I say it was small, well yes it is. But you get into your own little world when you are consuming delicious food and fun wines. Good experience. Decor & service are great. Fried green tomatoes & the steak were perfect. The fact that the menu changes daily makes it really attractive.
I liked everything about this place. Cozy environment. Well prepared and presented food. Right timing between dishes. Portions are small however you feel full but not heavy at the end. $38 per person is not cheap but compared to quality at other overpriced places it is good. Will be back soon and recommend to my friends.
Price ($38) is a super good deal for a nicely prepared 3 course (appetizer, main and dessert) pre fixed dinner. I had sturgeon and it was done perfectly and served at the right temperature. Remember ask for bread. It's not served automatically. Service was good and ambience was comfortable. Definitely will return soon. Per waitress, menu is changed weekly.

Quite simply: you did not experience the best of San Francisco if you didn’t go to Trestle.
