Plant trees This is a great nonprofit organization with the sole purpose of planting trees in public places. Volunteers plant hundreds of trees each year. Keep in mind temperatures reach over 100 during the summer and shade from a tree is most welcome. the foundation sponsors tree care classes and has a website for more information.
