I saw Dr. Kanaly about chronic migraines that I've had since age 9. Previous neurologists didn't help much. I highly recommend Dr. Kanaly to others with migraine. He listens well (typing the whole time), then recommends changes to your meds. He pushed through some meds w/ my insurance that other neurologists wouldn't go that extra step w/ insurance to get approved. Made a big difference in my level of migraines. Didn't immediately go the latest and newest drugs out for relief. Can't say enough about how I appreciate him!
Dr. Kanaly and his staff have been of invaluable medical assistance to me. He explained my condition in understandable detail and showed me the MRI visuals to support his recommendations. He does not hurry through the appointment so that all concerns can be addressed. It is also comforting knowing that he and his staff (his nurse and the front desk) are responsive, competent, and caring. I feel fortunate to be his patient.
I scheduled an appointment that I had to wait a month for. The day of the appointment the office calls to cancel it due to Dr. kanaly losing power at home, not the office losing power. I also did not have power at home, but I was still prepared to attend my appointment. I'm told someone will call me to reschedule, a week later still no call. I called and was rescheduled for two months later.
One visit so far. Prompt responses to my messages through the patient portal and during CoVid I appreciate being able to communicate vis this method. Still have more testing to go, but did get a tentative diagnosis at first visit, but no meds so far. I'm glad it only took 3 weeks to get in, as other neurologists had a 3-4 month wait for first appointment.
Dr Kanaly was great. very thorough and explained everything that he was recommending
I really trust his opinion and he has been very honest with me about what to expect in my ongoing struggle with seizures.
