We book a room on Hotwire for a 3.5 star room. They book us with travelodge that is a 2.5 star hotel. We called Hotwire right when we saw that it was the travelodge to try and get a refund. They refused. We contacted the travelodge for a refund and they refused as well. We did not check in. The travelodge looked to be in very good bad condition and I would not have my family stay there. We had to book an additional room for the night of March 1. We paid $260. And they will not refund it.

Bobby the front desk clerk is absolutely amazing and just a wonderful human being. he helped me in so many more ways than one he actually did my laundry for me!! he pulled a q-tip that was stuck in my ear and he gave me an unbelievable rate for a couple of nights and he's done this more than once. Michael that works there is absolutely amazing as well and a great friend. I booked here as my usual place was fully booked. Brief interactions with front desk were pleasant. Room was not haunted as no ghost would ever spend eternity in that hellhole. Towels were dirty/stained. Shower curtain had mold. Floors, walls and doors looked to be never cleaned. Ceilings stained and sagging. I did not find bed bugs, but took precautions with my luggage. No accessible outlet by bed to charge phone. Outlet by sink didn't work. Very loud traffic noise. No hairdryer.

I’ve stayed in nicer, cleaner hotels in third world countries like Djibouti, and Mauritania. Room was filthy. Had to go to Walmart to buy clean sheets, pillows and pillow cases, as well as flip flops to wear in the shower. Arrived too late to change rooms Or find another hotel. Got the last room in the hotel even though we booked a few weeks earlier. Noisy all night with traffic and emergency vehicles at all hours. Biggest fear was lice and bed bugs. Room had an active bed bug infestation, black mold, and dried bloodstains on the bed mattress and frame. Immediately checked out early and vacated to a new accommodation due to major health concerns. Have repeatedly made attempts to seek refunds on this booking from either the Travelodge site or Bookings.com with no success so far.
