We are from central IL visiting Montana for the first time. We absolutely love everything about Montana including our choice to stop by Trappers Saloon yesterday as we were out for a drive to explore more of Montana. The food, service & atmosphere were all top notch. Such a neat & relaxing place to stop & enjoy our lunch. The smoked brisket with slaw on a most delicious bun and fresh hot fries were awesome! If we lived here, we definitely would return!
Authentic western decor on the inside and they fixed up the porch to have more seating, an outside bar with a big screen TV. Nice out door stage for live music, a fire pit to gather around and the service is friendly. Just be patient when they are busy, as it is a popular place for locals and visitors. Important to order the right food off the menu. Can't go wrong with the pork rib lets, fried mushrooms, bowl of steamers, chili or soup of the day. Some of the entrees are hit or miss. Most appetizers and drinks are great.
Horrible fish tacos, did not have any appetizers left on sunday, except calamari, with no sauce. No lettuce on fish tacos that was frozen fish out of a box deep fried, most disgusting food I have ever eaten there. Had to take an alkaseltzer after dinner. Wow it was bad. Hope it improves soon. Very disappointed as I do not go there often.
