Just a heads up, The Transit is closed down. The windows and doors are boarded up. I put in a Google edit a bit ago but it hasn't updated yet. I believe they opened a new place on Whyte
What a great place for a class reunion. Simply the Best. Lots of parking, a step back in time and yup the Best smoked brisket, ribs and pulled pork.Top that off with Creme Brule and fresh whipped cream. Ray we had a blast! Unfortunately this Great eatery situated in the Historic Transit Hotel closed this location and is moving to White Ave. New location ,same fantastic smoked brisket etc.
The service is incredibly slow. Waiting over half an hour when they are not busy is unreasonable. I understand this location is closed now. This review is for when it was open.
May 6 ,2026 I see they are closing down and moving to White Ave to cohab with another restaurant. Owner is blaming the city, construction and the rough area for the failure of his restaurant. The fact he makes crap BBQ doesn't seem to get memtioned at all. June 2023 Well, a year later and the food isn't any better. No need to go into detail but brisket is dry with very little flavour and it was the best between it and the ribs, pork and chicken. First off I forgot to take pictures of the food we ordered, oops. The meat is definitely the star of the show, with the brisket being my favourite. Don’t sleep on the chicken, it’s really good. Wasn’t a big fan of the Mac and cheese as the pasta was too soft for me and the sauce too watery… but some people like that. I do enjoy the potato salad a lot too. Totally worth checking out. Service is amazing! Great for groups!
