Local Gun Store Worth Supporting I agree with the other reviewer who said that these guys are good, but not perfect. I've bought a rifle and two pistols there. As some people have said, the younger guys are very approachable and so is the owner, Gary. Josh and young Mike have both helped me out a lot with making purchase decisions. I've dealt with some of the older guys, they didn't seem as standoffish as other people have said (Ben and old Mike). I've only been in on the weekends/evenings though. When I was buying my pistol... read more

Not worth the hassle I recently tried to do an FFL transfer through these clowns, only to be blown off. I had avoided the store for over a year after poor service, but tried to give it a second chance. Their attitude was to do it the way they want, or go somewhere else. I understand gun laws, having worked in a gun store in college, and quite a bit about guns. I don't know it all, but these guys will tell you they do...just ask them. Clowns, I'm done wasting my time on this overpriced, unprofessional operation.

Rip Off I bought a new Ruger SR9 and picked it up Thursday, I cleaned it and went to shoot it Friday, it would not eject the fired rounds. I got new ammo, same problem, so I took it back that day and they looked at it and said it was a burr that they fixed (that might or might not be the problem) and it was better, but what they did was cover it with oil, so I said I wanted my money back. They charged me a $25.00 restocking fee, and the only way I could get my money back was to redeposit it to my debit card, that was two pm ... read more

Its all good I've been there twice now. The first time the owner went out of his way to help me when honestly I just wanted to look around. He was very nice and helpful. The second time I went, it was half an hour before closing time and one of the younger guys went out of his way to explain things to me up until closing time. I think some of you sensitive sally's need to chill out and quit crying that they didn't change your diaper for you. Some of the guns are more expensive, some of them are less. This is Sierra Vista! The Right Shop I've been shopping at trail boss for over 7 years... never have I felt ripped off, cheated, or up sold... things my trailboss experiences have helped me avoid at other gun shops in southeast AZ. Gray and the staff are straight shooters who tell you how it is, they don't sugar coat it. That might come off as stand-off'ish or aloof, but I'd readily take the advice of 100s of years of gun experience that resides behind the counter most days at lunch time. Unlike other shops who will try to increase their profit b... read more

Wont go back unless I have to Very condescending, very arrogant. As nice as the shop is, the employees are jerks. Gee, Im sorry I do not spend all my time learning about every single firearm. but that doesnt mean Im not interested.

The times they are a changing I have read the reviews that were posted years ago. As the title says, the times they are a changing. I have been buying from Trailboss for several years now. I have never had a bad experience with Gary, his wife, Frank, Mike, or any of the rest of the staff. The entire crew has a large body of knowledge about firearms and accessories. Even though I have a body of knowledge, I am still learning after all these years. The staff has been courteous and willing to discuss the ins/outs and pros/cons ... read more

Stay away from this place Terrible service. I went into the store knowing a bit about what I was looking for, and yet one of the jarheads behind the counter informed me that I wanted "a real caliber, like .45 ACP". Thanks buddy, like I havn't had the stopping power conversation 1,000 times already. When I did find a pistol I wanted, it seemed to be marked up about 20% higher than other gun stores. When I asked if there was anything they could do about the price, the guy huffed and said something along the lines of "Well when... read more

Shocked at all of the negative comments. Wow @ all of the bad eperiences/negative comments. I have to admit that I have only visited Trail Boss a handful of times since moving into the area, but each and everytime thus far has been a very good experience! I met Gary (the owner) and I believe his wife who sometimes works behind the counter on my very first visit. She actually sold me my Glock 19 (LEO/Military Glock) at a price that couldn't be beat! In fact they had probably a half dozen workers working that night behind the ... read more
