I made an appt to get an overdue (free) update on my Mazda. Additionally, they provided Lyft twice, did a full inspection, and resolved another issue with my backup camera that needed done, all free. Roman took care of me at the desk and by phone, and was super fast, efficient, and explained everything easily… so well I didn’t really have questions lol which is rare. Michael Scott definitely wasted my time. I told him over the phone i was looking to sell or trade for a used, but when i came in person, he basically just wanted to have me trade for a new car. once i mentioned i wanted to sell it or get a used car again, he basically ended the appointment and told me to go somewhere else. He was nice about it, but he overall didn't listen, which ended up wasting both of our time. I get this is how he gets paid, but he needs to still keep in mind what the customers actually want.
It's incredible how many times these people have been far MORE than fair with me. Recently I had to do diagnostic work there, and I agreed to pay the fee -- they gave me a loaner, too -- and then discovered that some body work was required to do the original request. They priced out the body work -- expensive! -- but told me they were waiving the fee for diagnosis because the body diagnostics was done out-of-shop. We brought our Mazda in for a recall due to a *hardware* issue, very common for certain Mazda model years. Tonkin Mazda attempted to fix it with a software update which was a total cheap-out imo. Was clear upon pickup the original issue was not fixed. Total waste of our time driving two vehicles an hour to and from the dealership over two days. Incompetent, avoid.
Want to pay twice as much as another repair shop? How about being told you'd get your vehicle back the next day and then instead be delayed for two more, only communicating when you call or text them multiple times per day? You'd hope that the service would either be good, fast, or cheap... I got one of them (or at least the work seemed adequate), maybe it'll be better for you.
