I'm a snowbird and hesitated whether to have my left hip replaced by Dr. Atkinson in Fort Myers or in NYC. I am so happy I chose Dr Atkinson. He is first class; the outcome was excellent and thanks to his friendly and efficient staff, my time was never wasted. Needless to say, when I needed my right hip replaced a year later, I went straight to Dr. Atkinson and the outcome was again excellent.

Excellent total hip replacement! Dr Atkinson performed amazing total hip replacement surgery for me on one hip and I will have the other hip replaced by him soon. He was very sympathetic with my hip pain prior to surgery and it was fast and easy for pre-operative consults and instructions. He checked in with me the morning of surgery and spoke with my brother after surgery telling him that everything had gone well. Recovery was great and faster than expected. I have been dealing with a very arthritic right shoulder for many years. I selected Dr. Atkinson based on his recommendations and explanations. The surgery went very well as did the rehab with Ed, Louise and everybody. Thanks to everyone, I am pain-free in that shoulder for the first time in over 15 years. Top notch!

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Atkinson, his staff, and his physical therapy department at the Nicholas Parkway location. I had a total knee replacement back in December 2025 and they have been so supportive and helpful throughout this four month process. Whenever I had a question or concern, or even if I just needed to talk, they were there helping and listening and encouraging all the time!
