Exotic Mexican food at taqueria prices make Tlaloc a Financial District favorite. – While San Francisco doesn't lack for tasty taquerias--the ranking of our various burrito joints are the subject of passionate debate--there's much more to Mexican food than tacos al pastor and fruit punch Jarritos. But finding mole, nopales, or even prawns is often a more expensive and time-consuming affair. Enter Tlaloc, a Financial District breakfast and lunchtime favorite tucked into the maze of alleys surrounding the Transamerica Pyramid.... read more

a little pricey but worth it This place is a little hard to find if you're driving in the financial district. It's in a closed alley. Although it's a little expensive for mexican food, it's worth it to splurge once in a while. The horchata is perfect and the burritos are a good sze.

Super Burrito = MICRO Burrito – Yeah, the food provided is pretty tasty. I have loved burritos for years and have tried many taquerias. I like their salsas, though it should be pointed out that the technology exists to CHOP the damn cilantro (leaving two and a half inch stems in salsa is moronic). I eat a burrito lunch every tuesday and thursday, as those nights are for after-work exercise. A burrito should sustain me from 2pm (when I'm done eating it) till 9pm, when I get out of the shower after a workout. Before you judge,... read more

Overpriced and Average – The food here isn't bad, but it is nothing special and it is somewhat expensive. The salsa bar is extensive, yet all of the salsas are mediocre. The location is great on a sunny day and it gets the job done. There are other places nearby that are more reasonably priced with better food.

rudely overpriced – It would be one thing if they could at least list the prices so you could determine if you wanted to wait in a long line to place an order, but the large menu lists everything except drinks ($2.50 for a medium soda by the way, the smallest they offer) as being "A.Q."...huh? The price of beans and rice varies that much? We paid just under $22 for a fish burrito, a steak burrito and two medium sodas. I'm not cheap but there was nothing special about this place to rate that.

Decent burrito, great setting & salsa – Not the best burrito in town, but certainly nothing to shake a stick at. Add that to an awesome salsa selection, great atmosphere and a sunny place for lunch, and you've got one of the best places to grab a bite in downtown SF.

Good Mexican in the Financial District – Tlaloc is a regular lunch spot, a three story building tucked down an alleyway. You order your lunch at the cashier, get a number, load up on soda/salsa and find a table. Waitstaff tracks you down and drops off your meal pretty quickly. The menu is a bit creative, you have your usual burritos, quesadillas and fajitas but with some different flavors. I typically get the mole prawn burrito with chips, very tasty. Salsa is very fresh and great with their thick chips. Lunch is typically $... read more

Steak, steak baby! – For starters..best Salsa bar in the city..but without a solid burrito, doesn't do much. Not to worry. Tlaloc serves up some of the city's best. I cannot beleive they were not in thee running for best burrito, and places like Baja Fresh were there...Travesty. I highly recommend the Steak with Pinto Supreme Burrito. Although they get jammed...I never had a problem getting a table.
