I have always loved stopping there for a meal. I go with my friend so she can pick up her dog's freshly grounded repacked dog good. Where else can you get a steak dinner with a stein of beer for about $16.00.
Drove all they way from Rancho Bernardo to try this place . Staff was helped us order the good stuff . Great quality and so affordable that we ordered several main dishes to try
We’ve been stopping at this place since 1994 when our son was starting to go to University of San Diego. We happened to pull in the drive way and saw it was a German Delicatessen. My husband being of German descent and both of us having spent 18 months in Germany back in 1963-1965, while he was stationed there, we got addicted to this place so every time we come this way, we make sure and get a bite to eat.
It was my first time at Tip Top. I picked out my very own ribeye steak and it was so good! The staff was so friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to go back and try all the other entrees.
Had the prime rib with German potato salad a couple of weeks ago and it was good. Too large of a portion with two slices of prime rib, but if you are a big eater and starving it is perfect. Today, we ate there again and I tried the lamb chops with mash potatoes and red cabbage. The lamb chops were well cooked and I had ordered medium rare. I still ate them and they were good. The mash potatoes and red cabbage I didn’t like at all. The roll tasted stale.
