As the name suggests, Timber is an American steakhouse specializing in delicious steaks made from only 100% prime Black Angus beef. They also serve seafood and desserts with cocktails and wines. The restaurant ditches the usual banquettes and white tablecloth setting for something that reflects the authentic menu. The interiors are done up in wood with brick walls, all lit up by candle and low-hanging lights. The outdoor patio has sunshades and wine barrels with wooden seating, making it a great place to unwind.

Timber steak house is a great place to go for excellent food and service. My mother was in the hospital fighting for her life back in August and September. After 3 weeks of time in the ICU waiting room the wife and I needed a break... we stumbled apon Timber Steak house and we are glad we did! They were friendly and service oriented. The food was cooked and plated prefectly. Thank you! Can't wait to go back!
Food was good service was good price well not what I expected, this is not NYC.
Not sure what those 1 stars are about, perhaps they just like to complain. I've dined at some of the best steakhouses in NYC, Boston, Miami, Chicago, Vegas, etc. Timber is the only steakhouse in Maine that comes close. A step above the grill room and easily the best steaks in Portland. I have never had a bad experience, makes me feel like I'm back in New York.
Management here is the worst! If they see a table is unhappy they simply ignore them instead of seeing what's wrong and offering to help. Some of the issues stemmed from undercooked food, and long waits when asked for refills or condiments. Management looked at our table and walked away. Very poor experience. Will not be going back
I've been twice. The service is good but the food is average at best and if a steak in Portland is going to be $50 it better be amazing and on both occasions it was far from it.
Best steak I've ever had and great portion sizes :) 24 oz. Ribeye was amazing.
This place is amazing! Apps dinner and drinks by far one of the best meals and experiences! Can't wait to go back!!
