My 2022 Chevrolet Silverado RST (Duramax) was towed into my local Chevrolet dealership on 8/11/2022 due to a "water in the fuel system" error message. The Gosch Chevrolet Service Department diagnosed the problem as DEF in the fuel system. On 8/23/2022 I was contacted by the Gosch Service rep. and told that my truck was repaired and ready to pick up and the repairs would cost $1,800. Unfortunately, the vehicle had DEF fluid put into the fuel compartment inadvertently before the vehicle was ever brought to Gosch Chevrolet. There have been several GM approved methods of repair for this, the first being to attempt to flush the fluid out and replace any damaged components, or have a COMPLETE replacement. Obviously, one of those repairs is more expensive than the other, and it was the one that was performed.
