And in today’s SUPER SHADY news…What had happened was…I popped into a small boutique downtown Jersey City today by the name of Tia’s Place today. While not what I would consider to be a regular customer I have purchased from there several times in the past. I spent maybe 30 minutes or so browsing and settle on a few end of summer t’s & a tank. Thrilled to have in the area – Whenever I need a last minute pick-me-up in the wardrobe, I run into Tia's instead of Short Hills or Manhattan knowing I will walk out with exactly what I needed. As a Mom in the area with not much time, its so nice to have a store where I can get my casual day time staples, a cute top for Sat night, a fabulous cocktail dress or a special gift. Tia's has never failed me!
If I could I would give this ZERO stars. – I live nearby and have stopped in a few times. The prices are outrageously high, especially for a low-income area like Jersey City. Also, when you enter the store they watch you like a hawk--you are presumed guilty of shoplifting, which does not put me in the mood for purchasing anything. In any case, the selection is not high quality --the inventory is mostly trendy, unsophisticated junk. Looks like typical Jersey girl "taste." Will NEVER get my money! – In short, the customer service is horrific in this store. No one ever asks if you need help, but they'll follow you all over the store watching you like you're going to stuff a pair of jeans in your Louis Vuitton bag. I've never experienced anything like it. I also don't understand why they would have a bunch of chairs and loveseats in the store if they don't want anyone to sit on them. DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE UNLESS YOU CHECK IT - DEFECTIVE – I purchased merchandise from Tia's Place. When I got home, I saw the sticthing was frayed --- it looked like it had been used. I tried returnign the items and the owner would not return them. I was really disappointed in the place. They have nice stuff, but you have to look it over very carefully, in a well lit place, as the item could be seriously flawed, below quality standards.
