Drove down from Brookings for what was to be an enjoyable night at Thunder Road - then pull in the lot and are informed by an employee that someone bought out the entire complex and that unless you're in their group you can just turn around and go somewhere else. Received free passes for go-karts but that doesn't compensate our time and gas and frustration of driving there, only to be told you're not welcome in our complex. Aaron, I am sorry to hear of your disappointment. We do host private events at our park a few times a year. Each time we host a private event, we adjust the hours on our website in an attempt to communicate the change in our hours to our guests. As you stated, we also stationed an employee in the parking lot to talk to guests and offer free tickets to any guests that were turned away that they can use during a future visit. Had a fun family night with my wife and son. Their staff was really friendly and great with our little guy! We will definitely be back for more go-carts and mini golf.
We had a blast. When our little guy wanted off the roller coaster they stopped the ride and re issued the ticket. My kids would have stayed at the water wars all night if we hadn't cut them off. Can't wait to figure out a time to go back.
